Julie is an executive coach and management consultant who combines 20+ years of business experience, graduate education and psychological principles to facilitate growth for individuals, teams and organizations. She is founder of JP Kantor Consulting, a corporate consulting firm. Julie appreciates the complexity of the work environment and knows what it takes for people to change. Julie builds on an individual’s strengths to develop their emotional intelligence as a tool to increase their leadership effectiveness. She helps take people and organizations to higher levels as she customizes all work to each unique culture.
Julie is a trusted advisor to senior executives. Julie coaches leaders, partners and C-suite executives with an appreciation that the core talents that lead them to success are different than the skills necessary to advance their careers, manage or lead others. Leveraging their well-honed skills, Julie consistently helps executives become well-rounded managers and inspirational, strategic leaders.
In addition to, or in combination with individual coaching, Julie partners with teams and/or organizations at-large. She consults with senior leaders, human resources, organizational development and learning/talent management to address diverse organizational issues such as roles and responsibilities, transition, processes and change management. She facilitates offsites to help teams or departments with strategic planning, people alignment, improving productivity and team building.
Julie’s clients are in diverse industries including media, publishing, architecture, retail, consumer products, finance and legal. Julie also commits time to non-profits including organizations dedicated to children, education, psychological support and empowerment. With a desire to give-back, Julie supervises and mentors professionals seeking coaching certification. She helps expand their training models to meet the complex needs of coachees, sponsors and organizations.
Prior to JP Kantor Consulting, Julie joined Harris Rothenberg, an international Employee Assistance Firm. She built their consulting division including developing or facilitating numerous seminars and offsites. As Senior Account Manager for Chemical Bank, Julie partnered with internal medical professionals and coached senior leadership on the change management process of the ground-breaking large-scale merger with Manufacturers Hanover. Past experience also includes Julie working with Columbia University on two class-action cases around race and gender issues. This work provided a forum for work exploring diversity and women’s leadership challenges in organizations.
Julie graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Highest Honors from University of Rochester. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in psychology from University of South Florida. Julie has researched stress, coping, skill building and emotional intelligence. Her theses and dissertation examined Emotional Intelligence in Children; Stress and Coping on and off the Job; and Coping Mechanisms in Dual Career couples. Subsequently, Julie has authored 40+ management, leadership and professional development seminars.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association, The American Society for Training and Development, National Association of Professional Women, NJ Human Resource Planning Group and HR People & Strategy.
